Professional Welding Course
Career as Welder

Work Hours & Environment

Work hours for a welder are similar to other trade areas such as plumbers. There is often the requirement to work early in the morning or late at night because the object being fixed is often worth large amounts of money and every minute it is not being utilised for the purpose it was built for the owner is losing significant sums of money.

The environment will partly depend on where you work such as if you work in a shipbuilding or repair yard or on a construction site for a new skyscraper. Other areas of the business will require you to perform your duties so they can also perform theirs and there is a possibility that you may be placed under stress from time to time.

Being a welder can be a rewarding career choice and it can provide you with a challenging environment although the work hours can be at times slightly unsociable although you will be financially rewarded for this.
